They’re Bloomin!

April showers bring May flowers, and WOW those flowers are spectacular in the Smoky Mountains.  We’re betting that you can’t wait to get out in the National Park to see the buds and blooms, hike the trails and have a spring picnic.  In addition to enjoying the great outdoors this May, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville are bursting with special events to entertain all ages.  Make your reservations with us and plan to have a great stay while you play in the Great Smoky Mountains!

Dolly’s Homecoming Parade:  Find your spot along the Pigeon Forge Parkway well before the 6 p.m. kickoff of the most anticipated Dolly parade of the year.  Dolly will Grand Marshall this hometown parade featuring marching bands, local entertainers, and floats by your favorite places in the Smokies.

Circle Yer Wagons:  Annual Volkswagen car show, contests and swap meet presented by the Appalachian Volkswagen Association.  Charity events benefit “Forgotten Child” fund.  Spectators welcome Saturday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.  Click to view or download car show poster.

Shrine Funfest Parade:  The Funfest parade may not be the most popular, but it is certainly the most fun parade in town.  Watch as Shriner’s ride mini-bikes, miniature trucks and gokarts in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children®.

10  Happy Mother’s Day!
If you’re celebrating Mother’s Day in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, plan to eat at the Alamo Steakhouse between 11 a.m.-9 p.m.  Mom will receive a free Filet entrée as a thank you for dining at Alamo.  Or, if you prefer the Old Mill or Old Mill Pottery Café, all Moms receive a special gift.

Tennessee Smokies vs. Montgomery Biscuits:  Game begins at 7:05 p.m.  Confirm game times for the reminder of the week.  Kick of the season with Dollar Night!  $1 Hot dogs, $1 popcorn and $1 sodas.  Friday night home game with Fireworks!

Annual Smoky Mountain Antique Toy & Pedal Car Show:  With over 120 tables showcasing antique toys, pedal cars and advertising memorabilia, it’s sure to be a fun adventure back in time with items on display and for sale.  Saturday will conclude with an auction starting at 2:00 p.m.  Country Cascades Event Center, Sharon Drive, Pigeon Forge.

Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival:  Bush Brothers & Company and the city of Gatlinburg hosts the Gatlinburg Beans ‘n Cornbread Festival on the streets of downtown from 4-8 p.m.  There will be a beans and cornbread cook off, Mountain music and plenty of fun!  Tickets for eatin’ are $10.

BBQ Cookoff, Free Bluegrass Concerts Outdoor Festival

Bloomin Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival:  The largest event in Sevierville includes a Tennessee State Championship Barbeque Cook-Off, Mountain Soul singing competition, numerous FREE bluegrass concerts, fun kids activities and local mountain crafts. Dollywood Barbeque & Bluegrass:  You won’t want to miss savory BBQ by master chefs and Bluegrass entertainment at the 2015 BBQ & Bluegrass Festival at Dollywood.  Eat to your hearts content and enjoy free concerts by some of the best Bluegrass bands and performers around.  This festival doesn’t last long so make your cabin rental reservations soon!
