Register Early for These Smoky Mountains Events
If you are planning a vacation in Gatlinburg 2016, there are some great special events that just may be the icing on your vacation cake! Although most of them are ‘open door’ to spectators, some of them require advance registration to participate and others require tickets that sell out long before the event takes place. Here are just a few that you may want to add to your 2016 vacation itinerary now.

Pigeon Forge Saddle Up 2016
Tickets On Sale Now!
In true cowboy spirit, the 16th Annual Saddle Up Festival celebrates the American West and takes place come wind, snow, rain or shine. Join us in Pigeon Forge for a round up of stellar musical and storytelling entertainment along with other wild activities!
Tickets will also be available for purchase on site along with the Special Saddle Up Concert Pass that includes three concerts at LeConte Event Center. Tickets are $60 and only 100 tickets are available.
Saddle Up activities include:
- Quilt Trunk Show
- Cowboy Fun at Blairs Valley Ranch in Wears Valley
- Western Dance Class
- Mini Concerts
- Dinner Concerts
- Cooking Demonstration
- Buckaroo Roundup
- Chuckwagon Cookoff
- Cowboy Dance
- Chuckwagon Breakfast and Cowboy Church

2016 A Mountain Quiltfest 2016
The 22nd Annual A Mountain Quiltfest™ celebrates the artistry and heritage of quilting and brings quilters from all around to attend classes and display their quilted creations. The show is open to the public to view quilts and contest entries. Quilters wishing to attend classes need to register now, and contest entries must be postmarked no later than February 12, 2016.

9th Annual Mountain Man Memorial March
Registration Opens Soon! – Start Training Now
The Mountain Man Memorial March 2016 will bring spectators and hundreds of participants from across the US to show “Honor through Action” for the sacrifices of American service members and their families. Event includes The March and The Run. There is a full 26.2 mile marathon, a 13.1 half marathon and 10K run. Individuals and teams of all ages welcome. The goal of the Mountain Man Memorial March is to provide scholarship grants to Gold Star Family members, and provide donations for the University of Tennessee Army and Air Force ROTC programs and American Legion Post #2 Knoxville TN.

Wilderness Wildlife Week
New springtime date for Pigeon Forge Wilderness Wild Life 2016! Nature lovers, hikers and outdoors enthusiasts gather at LeConte Center for a variety of programs that highlight enjoyment of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and love for the outdoors in general. Workshops, discussions, presentations and hikes are family-friendly and open to all ages and interests.
Wilderness Wildlife Week includes:
- Nature Classes and Seminars
- Expert Workshops and Panel Discussions
- Exhibitor Hall
- Hikes and Field Trips in the Smoky Mountains National Park
- Nature Photography Classes and Contest
Indoor programs will take place at the Pigeon Forge LeConte Center and all programs are generally held between 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. throughout the week.
