Dollywood 2017 Summer Festival
This year, Dollywood Theme Park continues the spectacular great American Summer Lives Here Celebration through August 6. It’s summer food and a whole lot of family fun with extended park hours from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. every day. There will be an exception July 1 and July 8 when the park stays open until MIDNIGHT for the very first time!
Anyone who knows of Dolly Parton has come to love her “Coat of Many Colors,” and each summer she gives us something more to love… Dolly’s “Nights of Many Colors.”
What is more fun than fireworks? That is exactly what “Nights of Many Colors” refers to! Dollywood will close the park each evening by lighting up the Pigeon Forge sky with a spectacular fireworks display! The fireworks show begins at approximately 9:30 p.m., synchronized to some of America’s favorite songs and an inspiring musical crescendo, “Paint Your Dreams Across the Sky,” written by Dolly herself!
These best fireworks viewing areas are:
- Timber Canyon
- Country Fair Grandstand Cafe
- Adventures in Imagination
- Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame
Each day of the celebration will include the amazing “Gazillion Bubbles” show and the strolling Gem Tones, performing the best of music from the 50s and 60s.
If summer 2017 is your first visit of the year to Dollywood, you’ll get to try out the brand new Drop Line! Head to Timber Canyon and climb aboard the Drop Line gondola to rise toward the sky and drop 20 stories back to the ground. Did you miss a previous chance to ride the Lightning Rod coaster? It’s up and running in Jukebox Junction and ready to take you to speeds of up to 73 mph!
With so much to do at Dollywood, stop dreaming about how summers “used to be when you were growing up” and instead, start your own summer vacation tradition with your children in Pigeon Forge with explosive family fun!
