Gatlinburg Winter Magic is an annual Winterfest celebration that makes a year end vacation in the Smoky Mountains just as exciting as a summer getaway. Beginning November 8 with the Gatlinburg Winter Magic Kickoff & Chili Cookoff, unique LED Christmas light displays light up the night! Displays include light up versions of animals that are native the National Park, jolly snowmen, singing children and a bright rocking horse.
Many people use the Gatlinburg trolley system while here on vacation, but enjoying a “Trolley Ride of Lights” at night through Christmas lights is arguably the best ride ever! Designated trolleys travel along a special route, making their way through town and along Highway 321, allowing you to experience Gatlinburg Winter Magic in a wonderful and possibly new way. Enclosed and heated Winter Magic trolleys depart nightly near Ripley’s Aquarium at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 p.m. to begin their trek along these magical routes. Tickets are $5 per person, children under 3 are free if they are sitting in a adult’s lap.
Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights take place through January 27, 2018, but the Christmas lights will be shining through the end of February. Words can’t describe the true experience of being in the Smoky Mountains during Gatlinburg’s Winterfest. The mountains and magical memories are waiting at Ridgecrest Cabins!
