As if the Great Smoky Mountain National Park doesn’t provide enough things to do during your Gatlinburg vacation, the city of Gatlinburg continues to put on a great show of local events and mountain festivals to entertain, enlighten and educate. Most are free family events and attending them can only enhance your getaway.
This June, the Smoky Mountains are bursting with wildflowers, wildlife and perfect temperatures. Book your vacation in one of our 1 or 2 bedroom mountain cabins and then plan to attend these great events in and around Gatlinburg.

Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales: On Fridays and Saturday through June 8 and then every day through August 10, plan to be in downtown Gatlinburg after 6 p.m. for free entertainment all along the Parkway. Meet characters, hear mountain music and learn about life long ago in the Smokies through storytellers, musicians and cloggers performing in traditional Appalachian style.
Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival: Folks of all ages enjoy visiting Dollywood year round, but the BBQ and Bluegrass Music Festival offers something extra special! The extra sweet flavors of southern BBQ recipes and the extra sweet sounds of Bluegrass music’s top names. If you want to make the most of your fully equipped cabin kitchen by cooking in, be sure to include fresh, locally grown produce from the Gatlinburg Farmers Market in your recipes. The market takes place every Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the Alamo Steakhouse parking lot at 705 East Parkway (Hwy 321). Free Parkway Trolley Rides! Yep… you get yourself downtown and then you can ride the specially painted open air trolley FREE, all day long, between lights #1 – #10 in downtown. Get on, get off to shop, get back on, get back off again and have a bite to eat. (We think you get it! LOL) Operating hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

All NEW Dollywood Festival! It’s a Great American Summer Festival at Dollywood theme park with late night hours so that you can have even more fun than usual. Late shows, great food, nighttime rides and nightly fireworks! The park will be open everyday from 10 a.m.-10 a.m. clear through August 4.
