Gatlinburg Restaurants Wild Plum Tea Room

Indoor and Outdoor Dining in Gatlinburg

The Wild Plum restaurant has been serving visitors to the Art & Craft Trail for decades, and remains a popular Gatlinburg dining destination.  Famous for Wild Plum Tea, daily Chef creations and Wild Plum muffins, guests come back year after year to enjoy lunch in the historic house, on the screened porch or outside in the garden.

The Wild Plum is open Monday-Saturday for lunch only from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., March through mid-December.  Their menu changes often to include the Chef Special of day, which is prepared in limited quantities to ensure the freshest, highest-quality meal possible.  Soups, salads and sandwiches dominate the menu, using what is out of the garden or what’s in season to create their daily menu.  Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten-Free items are available upon request.

4 Family-Sized Tea Bags
3 Quarts Water
2 Cups Cane Sugar
2 Cups Prepared Orange Juice
1/2 Cup Real Lemon Juice
Optional:  Fresh Orange Slices (Seeds Removed)

Pour sugar syrup over tea in pitcher and continue to steep another 15 minutes.
Remove tea bags and add orange juice, lemon juice and remaining water.  Stir.
Place orange slice in the bottom of a glass and add ice.  Pour your sweet, Wild Plum Tea and enjoy!

On a regular basis, 24-hour advance reservations are highly recommended, but same day reservations are accepted based upon availability. (Reservations are NOT accepted during the month of October.)  Though the restaurant is only open for lunch, the owners welcome advance reservations for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, family reunions and other special occasion meals after hours.

You might be surprised to know that The Wild Plum is also a dog friendly restaurant, one of the few dog-friendly restaurants in Gatlinburg.  Dogs are welcome on the outside deck—weather permitting—and not inside the screened porch or main dining area.  A fresh bowl of water will be offered for your dog so that you may enjoy a wonderful and relaxing lunch even with your companion in tow.

We hope that you’ll mosey on over to the Tea Room for lunch one day while staying with us at Ridgecrest Mountain Cabins in Mountain Mist or Chipmunk Haven, both located right in the Arts & Crafts Community with easy access to The Wild Plum.
