Ripleys Davy Crockett Adventure Golf
What is fun for all ages and played outdoors in the great Smoky Mountain fresh air? A game where one’s skill level does not determine the amount of fun that can be had… and that’s putt putt golf. And “Believe It Or Not,” Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf Course is actually TWO unique courses in one great location.
Ripley’s mini-golf is designed to replicate the good old days when Davy roamed the hills. It consists of 2 interactive, 18-hole courses that are beautifully landscaped and feature animated critters found in the forests of the Great Smoky Mountains. Your buckaroos will have fun pretending to be Tennessee’s fearless folk hero and champion hunter Davy Crockett while navigating their way through his “wild frontier.” They’ll be thoroughly entertained with the large animated raccoons, bears, chipmunks, and even some heckling crows that decorate both courses!
While these adventure courses are family-friendly, you will find they have some challenges for the seasoned players, too. There are over and under ramps, steep drops, and lots of water hazards. There are also some very original golf holes such as the Hillbilly Outhouse; aim just right and it flushes!
With their exceptionally cheerful and helpful employees, Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf is dedicated to making sure your family has a ton of fun. Want to play more than 1 game? For just $1 more, you can play 36 holes instead of 18. You can also win free golf games if you sink a hole-in-one off the 18th tee.
Weather permitting, this outdoor attraction is open year round with seasonal hours. It’s located in Gatlinburg at traffic light #1, on the corner of Parkway and Dudley Creek Road and offers free parking! The course is easily accessible from all the Ridgecrest Mountain Cabins in the area, or if you are already downtown, just hop on a trolley to take you there.
TripAdvisor has awarded this golf course a 2014 Certificate of Excellence and ranks Davy Crockett Mini Golf #13 of 65 attractions in Gatlinburg. Here are a few first-hand reviews:
Hands Down Best Putt Putt
“This isn’t just the best putt putt course in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, but the best putt putt place I have ever visited. With some many choices in the area, it can sometimes be challenging on which mini golf place to visit, but take my word you must put Davy Crockett’s first on your list. Each hole is very unique and challenging for any skill level. For the quality of the course, the price is extremely reasonable and if interested one should look into the package deal where you can get into the Aquarium as well. Hole 18 offers the chance to win a free game and although challenging, it isn’t impossible. From now on, all other miniature golf courses will be measured against this one!” K.S.
“Tried it for the first time this weekend after by passing it on our past few trips to Gatlinburg and now we wish we would have stopped sooner. We played all 36 holes and had a blast. The courses were fun and thought out without being over complicated. Our favorite was the right hand course due to all the shade.” R.W.
“The courses are in great condition. Very entertaining for the kids. I loved how shaded it was so it never felt to hot. This course is a little pricey but for only a $1 more you are able to play the other course too. We also used a $1 off coupon. Kids won a free game with hole in one at the end. Love that they made that an option for them. The free game doesn’t expire for a year. Overall great time!” E.L.
